I Wish....

As we wrap up the school year we have been doing some fun things in the classroom. One thing was called I Wish. The students had a book to read about a little girl who tries making a wish every possible way. When they were done we traced their silhouette and they turned it into a picture of them blowing a dandelion. Then they wrote 6 things they wished for. Of course there was the ipad or iphone, or I wish I could have anything I wanted, but here are a few that made my heart smile.
This is what they looked like!
I wish I was extra super strong.
I wish I was an archaeologist.
I wish I had a spiky Mohawk.
I wish I was  dog.???
I wish I had pointy shoes.
I wish I was a lucky duck.
I wish everything was made out of hot Cheetos.
I wish I could run 60,000 mph!
I wish I had a twin brother.

Aren't they so cute :)

And in case you were wondering how ol' Rocco and Taegan are doing... just peachy. I feel like it is already summer! We have spent the last couple of weekends playing in the water, taking long naps (yes we!), and just lounging around. Here is a picture update!

Excavator!

Taking a break at the splashpad... what is that we see????

A TRAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hanging out under the waterfall.

Sorry for the blurry pic. Going through the car wash.... still not the biggest fans :)

Grandma sent us $5 and we got to pick out our own toy!! Thank-u Grandma! On a side note~ Notice they picked 2 different trucks.... not the best idea. We are now on the hunt for another snow plow!

We have been falling asleep in some funny positions lately! I guess it was a crazy night!

Melts my heart :)

Take me out to the ball game...

Ray and I had a fun little afternoon date on Thursday. We went and watched the Rangers game! It was weird to be out in daylight for that long without children :) We had a blast! But because the game was in the afternoon the sun was out in full force and we didn't apply enough sunscreen.... I say we. I at least attempted to put sunscreen on but didn't get my legs, but Ray on the other hand said he didn't need sunscreen because he is Mexican. He is now sporting a ridiculous sunburn line which 99% of the time it wouldn't be a big deal but we had family pictures today! So we will see how they turn out!

Go Jonny!

Soaking up the sun :)
And just what were the boys doing while we were enjoying our afternoon? Hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa doing this....

Do you feel the love?

This week was Teacher Appreciation and appreciated I felt :) The PTA and students know how to make a teacher feel loved! My Monday started with this cute little surprise waiting for me!

*Thank-you Lauren :)

We had a week of yummy lunches and breakfasts. PLus very thoughtful gifts from many students!

And to show my appreciation for the boy's teachers I made them these cute little things. The little sign says "Thank-you for helping us grow!"
 (idea from Pinterest of course)

I can't believe the school year is almost over, I think there are 14 more days left. Where did the time go? So as the school year comes to close I am trying to plan the summer. With two active toddlers that need to be kept busy at all times I need a plan stat! I will keep you updated on that :)

And of course I couldn't blog without including pictures of my guys!

First a video of soccer time with Dad :)
video

Taegan painting with his shades on.

This is Rocco's idea of a smile :)

And Taegan eating with his shades on... as you can tell Taegan likes his sunglasses!

If these boys could eat and sleep outside they would

Loving life outside digging in their "construction sight" as they call it :)

TRAIN!!

Something they love as much as trains and dirt... chips and queso :)

The boys getting ready to go play soccer with Dad... every soccer player needs clean teeth!

Pit stop to refuel on milk!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful Mommy's I know :)

Wonder No More...

I no longer have to wonder what goes on around here while I am away! Apparently Ray uses my precious boys as target practice.

Despite being used as targets these boys are definitely developing a love for soccer! Not sure where they would get that from? ;)

Mommy you happy?

I am asked this question several times a day by a couple of toddlers I know. And it is usually asked after one said toddler has done something they know they should not do. My responses vary from "Do I look happy?", "Are you happy?", or "No I am very frustrated right now." Apparently they do not understand these responses because they then ask again "Mommy you happy?" At this point I usually sigh in defeat and say yes boys I am happy.... because let's be honest who can stay mad at these faces for too long?

I am once again behind in posting so a super quick catch up and some pictures! We had a great Easter. The boys were very into the egg hunt :) And with an Easter bunny from El Paso and one here in Dallas the boys were spoiled with some loaded baskets... but that's what Easter bunnies are for right? ;) We have been spending lots of time outside... which makes the boys Happy little campers. Aside from hanging out in the great outdoors you can usually find me carrying on  ridiculous conversations with my favorite two toddlers :)

T-"Mommy my eyeball hurts."
M-"Your eyeball?"
T-"yes"
M-"What did you do to your eyeball?"
T-"Mommy please you fix it?"
M-"Well what did you do to it?"
T-"I need band aid."
M-"Ok but can you tell me what happened?"
T-"I broke it."
M-"I know you told me that part, but how do you break your eyeball?"
T-"It hurts."
M-"Can you show me?"
T- Shows me his elbow where the scab on an old boo-boo was cracked :)
M-"Oh your elbow!"
T-"That's what I say Mommy."

or

(on the drive home from school)
R-"Mommy I got you present."
M-"You did?"
R-"Yes it at home."
M-"Oh is it my birthday?"
R-"No"
M-"Well what is my present?"
R-"New movie."
Having no clue what he is talking about M-"What new movie?
R-"Orange garbage truck movie!"
Still no clue M-"What orange garbage truck movie?"
R-"On TV."
M-"You got me a new garbage truck movie for the TV?"
R-"Yes you can watch it today"
M-"Well it must be my luck day!"
R-"You not have to wait til Monday."

~we never found the above mentioned new movie Rocco got me :)

Ok now for some pictures!
Going through all the eggs they found!

Picnic :)
Taking a break from shopping to enjoy a cookie and a smoothie.

And if you have stuck around this long here is a little glimpse into our quite and calm home... stop on by if you need a moment relax :)

I dread the day these 2 can actually drive!

P.S. I tried to post more videos but it wasn't working :(

Spring Break

We had an eventful Spring Break this year! We planned a trip to to see family in LA. Ray has a lot of family out there and they haven't seen the boys since they were 4-5 months old (I think?). Preparing for this trip was a little different than our last trip. (We went to Phoenix in October) I felt very prepared. Last trip I spent the weeks before buying books and different things to keep them occupied on the plane ride. This time around that didn't happen. Things have been so crazy at work and with Ray's school and work schedule... plus both the boys got sick. Needless to say Saturday and Sunday were spent running errands, and getting ready for our trip. Even though I didn't feel as prepared, the flight was smooth sailing. The only challenging part was the potty :) Of course one had to go either during take off or landing!

We had a great time while we were there! Thank-you to Aunt Candie, Aunt Liz, Aunt Cindy and Aunt Lizzie for your hospitality. On Tuesday we went to Ray's grandma's house. Ray spent a good majority of his childhood playing at this house. I think it was neat for him to watch the boys run around and have fun at a place that holds so many memories for him. On Wednesday we went to the beach. It was the boys first time to experience their toes in the sand and see the ocean (it was too cold to get in). We definitely have some beach kids! They did not want to leave and have been asking to go again. I don't think they understand we don't have an ocean with sand in Dallas :) We headed back home Thursday and unfortunately we didn't have as much luck on the return flight. We had to wake up super early to catch our flight. I figured the boys would sleep on the flight, but that didn't happen. Actually I take that back, they fell asleep as the plane was landing, no joke! They were cranky when we got home but I figured they were exhausted. Rocco just wanted to be held and he felt pretty hot. We took his temp... it was 103 :( I gave him some medicine and put them down for a nap. He woke up crying and was still warm. I decided to take him to the doctor, and I'm glad I did. He had the flu. Friday he was on and off. He would get a burst of energy but then completely die and just wanted to be held. Not going to lie though, I enjoyed all the cuddling. So Friday we just hung out. Saturday he was doing pretty well. We spent the entire morning working outside. Our yard was in dire need of some TLC! Sunday Rocco was back to normal with no temp (and knock on wood) it looks like Taegan didn't get it! Richard was not so lucky.... sorry Richard :(

It was a great Spring Break (minus the flu)! Our little family really needed this little down time to hang out and relax!

Let the pictures begin!

Watching a movie on the flight

They got to sleep on a blow up air mattress... this is how I found them onthe first night :)

Thank You for everything Aunt Candie, We love you!

Aunt Liz, we can't wait for another cheesecake! Love you!

In case that wasn't enough for you I wanted to share a funny picture. Before we left I was trying to keep the boys entertained while I packed, I found a channel with preschool yoga and they were all into it :)
